Vacation Time is Great!
Forgive me, my friends. It has been a long time since my last confession J. To be honest, I have been feeling drained and not really in the mood to sit down and spill my beans after the WSOP. After a disappointing exit from the Main Event, I went straight from Vegas to Monaco and Cannes to be a part of the production of the final event of the World Series of Backgammon so it actually took some time before I was able to put my feet up and not have any chores to do…
Right now I am in Denmark, spending a lot of hours with my virtual on-line buddies, Tim Phan, Steve Sung and the rest of the pack. Let me summarize my hundreds of hours of play by saying that things have definitely been going my way on Full Tilt, play-wise as well as result-wise. My Omaha Hi/Lo results have so far been outstanding and my PLO has improved dramatically since my down-swing earlier this year. So on that end I have absolutely nothing to complain about.
As for other ventures, I am really happy that my book has been released in German as well as in French. So there is no excuse for all of you German and French fans out there, whose English is a little on the weak side, to head down to your local book store and get a copy. The Danish version will be out by the end of this month and I will be back here in Denmark to promote it just before it hits the stands.

What else, what else. Oh yes - backgammon. As some of you might know - I am the presenter and endorser of the World Series of Backgammon of which the final event, called the Riviera Cup, was held in Cannes shortly after the WSOP. On top of my commentating gig, I have a lot of fun playing in the events, and this time I was suddenly getting somewhere. After a couple of days of match play I found myself in the final of the event up against Bob Koca from the US. And what a match we ended up having. I was behind all the way, 0-5, 3-8, as Bob desperately tried to hit the magic 13 points for a win. Eventually it was to be decided in a so-called double match-point game, where the winner would take the title. Although I was a solid favorite in the match, it wasn't to be for me this time. Damn - I would have loved to become a dual-discipline champion.
Instead I put on my head-phones and trash-talked my way through the WSOB Championship event which Koca almost went on to win as well!
I swung by Casa Hansen in Monaco after the tournament and then boarded a plane to Copenhagen for a well-deserved vacation.
I plan on playing a few of the FTOPS IX tournaments but the next live tournament I will participate in will be final of the Partouche Poker Tour back in Cannes starting September 3rd. Then obviously my plan is to do better than last years 10th place at the Main Event of the World Series of Poker Europe.
